Description

Cefixime is an antibiotic medication that is used in the treatment of various infections caused by bacteria such as gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted disease); bronchitis ( airway tubes infection leading to the lungs); and infections of the tonsils, ears, throat, and urinary tract. Cefixime Oral Suspension falls under a class of medications known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It aids in functioning by killing bacteria in the body. Antibiotics such as cefixime are not able to treat flu, colds, or other viral infections. Stopping using antibiotics when they are not required increases the risk of returning an infection later that needs antibiotic treatment.
